Clean

DSC_0608

What is it? How could I know it if I saw it? What could I liken it to? How could I explain it?

There will be such shock for us when we first stand in the presence of God. We shall fall down in shame and inside our hearts think to ourselves, "So that's what clean is." We've never experienced such a bright white, such an absence of flaw, such an intense glow of flaming holiness.

How one, in honesty, could ever think that temporal scrubbing off of this world’s filth could fit for a eternity in the presence of such glory is nothing less then an insult to the depth of the holiness of God. We fall short, oh little man, we fall so far short.

This world, in comparison with God's abode, is like a palace and a garbage dump. Its festering growth of stench slowly bringing it to the point when the earth must be turned, and all be buried forever to cover the filth.

Cleanliness is propagation, and effort is influence. For only those, which have been cleansed within, can mimic that removal of filth without. We know His cleansing within, but they can only see such as we advertise it upon us on the outside. Those painted with mire from birth can view the faint shine of a glistening eternity awaiting all those who will take Christ's offer to be cleansed. How clean will you show your Christ to be?

Man walks this garbage heap, seeking a cast off trinket left by those gone before, to trade it for other trinkets of trash with other trash heap dwellers. If successful (as we would define it here) in our endeavours, we may succeed in collecting many shiny objects for ourselves and storing them in our corner of the dump; yet only for a moment. For not long from now, our time here passes and all we've laid up will be burnt up with everything else, turned beneath the fires of judgment as it is found to be 'unclean'. Why waste life's hours searching for trinkets of trash, when only things cleansed will be kept at the last. Don't waste your life investing in garbage. The only things of value in this heap are the ones who tread its paths.

We can choose to live clean-like here. We can decide to be clean without if we are clean within. Yet, it can never work on the outside until we have Him on the inside. What Christ did when He shed His cleansing blood on the cross is provided opportunity for our mire to be removed. Ask Him to clean you of your sin, and He will cleanse your heart, and give you a clean eternity.

But to those who are clean within, why roll in the mud without? Why not give the passers-by something they have never considered? A person who chooses to be clean in a world that cannot even imagine how deep clean really goes. You, by His cleansing work upon your life, echoing from your choices for Him within, can glow a bright light of your own in this darkened and stained world. Why bushel your light in mires of sin? Why roll in trash when you are promised the palace!?!

Stand up from the filth and put it off you. Choose to be clean. And in doing so, you will give the world what they have always been waiting for, a glimpse of God.

“Peter saith unto him, Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me. Simon Peter saith unto him, Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head. Jesus saith to him, He that is washed needeth not save to wash his feet, but is clean every whit: and ye are clean, but not all.For he knew who should betray him; therefore said he, Ye are not all clean.” – John 13:8-11

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” – Matt 5:16

“And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.” – Rev 21:3-4

Oh the choices I make. It is a choice from within that reflects outwardly. I am thankful that He helps me!
