My Baby...

... is getting big! Ella is officially rolling over with ease now. So much for her sleeping on the couch. We've been pushing the coffee table up against the couch so she can't roll off, but she's really moving now!

We brought the walker up last week and she seems to like it. She's able to grab at the toys....but mostly she just likes to smile at herself in the mirror!

I think Jeddy is a little confused... he seems to think it's a new toy for him....haha.

On Friday night we sat around with the kids and ate homemade cookies with milk while we watched Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. I love how the kids think we're so smart for knowing a few of the answers! :P

During the day on Saturday, Scott and I took a nap...the kids went a little crazy with my camera while I was sleeping! lol
The last one is Prayer. Of course.
Saturday night, Scott and I went to the Freshmen Banquet at church. I spent most of the night walking around with Ella since it was during her grumpy-right before bed-time. Every time people started clapping, she would freak out and start crying. Poor girl!

Sunday was church, and naps. Just how we like it!

Notice the airplane? He has not put it down in two weeks now. We left it at home for church, and as soon as I picked him up from the nursery he said, "Airplane!?" And he literally tried to drag me out the doors at church to go home and get his airplane!

Now for a week of re-learning atoms and molecules with Keona! I'm actually enjoying science this time around! :P

Weekend Overview

I never seem to get around to blogging on the weekend...so forgive me, but Monday has become "catch-up" day!
The kids had been waiting all week for Friday night. 'Why' you ask??? Because Scott had gotten a copy of "Star Wars: Clone Wars" from a friend at work and they were all dying to see it. *gag*
I made popcorn for everyone and they sat glued to the TV while Jed and I played.

On Saturday I went to a baby shower at church for a lady who just had twin girls. They were adorable. It brought back so many memories!
My Mom with Ella and Grandma Michel with Abigail (one of the twins)

Once home, we spent the day relaxing.
Eve put Ella to sleep in Scott's chair.
Then later on, Charity was rocking Ella to sleep and actually fell asleep with her! It was so cute.

It was Open house this Sunday at church. We heard an amazing testimony, wonderful singing, and a great gospel message from Pastor Baker. I'm so thankful for our church.

It was a nice weekend. Scott and I stayed up, drank tea, and played Scrabble Sunday night. (Wow, we sound really old...!) And for the first time... in....well forever! ... he beat me. By a measly 8 points. Kinda like the only time I beat him at chess. I remember that it was a real pathetic win...

Oh, and did I mention that Jeddy used the toilet three times today!?!? I didn't even mention it. He came to me and said, "Mommy! Toilet!" I took him... and he went! Seriously, I'm hoping I get away without having to potty train this kid! He's doing it all on his own! :)

Flashback Friday: In Loving Memory

I know it's a little late in the month. But it was in September of 1988 that my father passed away. And then in September of 2003 that my grandmother went on to join him. So I thought this would be appropriate for a "Flashback Friday"
-
My Dad with Sarah in Jamaica.
My Dad with Sarah and I at Dunn's River Falls, Jamaica

My Grandma with her 3 granddaughters.

I also wanted to include Scott's grandma. Or "Great-nana" as she was known to the kids. Who passed away in 2007.
-
Great-nana with 5 of the kids.

We love and miss you all...but thankfully, we'll see you all again some day.
-
"I cannot think of them as dead
Who walk with me no more;
Along the path of life I tread
They have but gone before.
-
"The Father's house is mansioned fair
Beyond my vision dim;
All souls are his, and here, or there,
Are living unto him.
-
"And still their silent ministry
Within my heart hath place,
As when on earth they walked with me
And met me face to face.
-
"Their lives are made forever mine;
What they to me have been
Hath left henceforth its seal and sign
Engraven deep within.
-
"Mine are they by an ownership
Nor time nor death can free;
For God hath given to love to keep
Its own eternally."

... in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:37-39

We're Making Progress!

So last night I was giving the boys a shower, and I had taken them back into their room to get changed. While I was busy digging through Jed's drawers- which desperately need to be cleaned out- I heard the sound of water hitting the floor. I turned around to see Jeddy peeing! My immediate reaction was to yell, "NOOOOO!" To my complete shock....he stopped peeing! I was like, "Really??? Did he just STOP??" So I ran him into the bathroom, and at first he was terrified of the toilet. But after Elijah showing him how...Jed peed in the toilet! He actually did it! So we celebrated by doing our completely lame, "Pee pee in the potty!" song and dance.
The hardest part is over...he conquered his fear of the super scary toilet seat, and now understands what it's for. This does not mean I'm attempting to potty train him yet. ha...We'll see how things go from here.

Last night he also made the mistake of rough-housing with Miss. Vicki. Flare usually takes it from him....but not Miss. Vicki! She responded with a quick scratch to his arm and then ran away to hide. Our lovely little psycho cat... Jed kept say, "Kitty-cat..hurt you!" He hasn't mastered the whole "you..me...I" thing yet....

But I was impressed by Elijah. What a great big brother he is to Jed. Teaching him how to pee in the toilet...tackle his sisters...and most importantly....drive Mom batty!
Like father, like sons...right? :P

Oh, how I love my boys! :)

Jeddy's 2nd Birthday Party!

Last year I felt bad because we didn't really have a "party" for Jed's 1st birthday. (Not that he would remember anyhow) So this year we planned a little family get together. My parents and Robbie came, along with Scott's Mom.

It was so much fun watching him open presents. It's the first time that he'd remember getting presents, so his expression was priceless when he realized there were things for him inside all of these bags! He has been vehicle obsessed since summer started- with airplanes, buses, trucks, "cycles" (motorcycles)...pretty much anything that drives! We got him a Little People School bus, and Scott's parents got him the Plane and police car. My parents and Robbie bought him some clothes, and 2 little model airplanes. Oh yes, and his new "copter" pyjamas that he refused to take off the next day.

Now, what did he spend all weekend carrying around??? Not his 3 big, singing, music playing vehicles, with moving people and flashing lights...nope. But his little figurine airplanes. Figures...

The day before the party the girls and I baked him a chocolate cake.

His request was a "chocolate-geeeeen" (green) cake. So that's what we did. He managed to butcher it a bit when I wasn't looking.

Thankfully, we saved it and made him a fruit loop cake. It was the girls' idea. I was quite impressed!

I loved the look on his face when we all started singing and Scott brought in his cake! :)

After presents and cake Grandpa played with the kids. They love it when Grandpa's here to beat up on and throw them around.

When everyone went home it was time to relax.

Well, except for Ella. She still wanted to party!

Happy Birthday Jedidiah!

My youngest boy is turning two today. It was two years ago that my little monkey was born. Much more...mischievous than his older brother there is never a dull moment with Jed. Whether he's climbing on the counter, jumping off the table, helping himself to every banana on the counter, or filling toys with water... he is always busy with something. Up at the crack of dawn, and usually standing beside me, just waiting for me to peak-at which point he exclaims, "Morning!" with a huge dimpled grin.

He has always been a mamma's-boy. He actually use to get mad when Scott and I would hug. He'd try to push Scott away and hug me. He still loves to cuddle with his Mom.

I love this poem:
My Baby Boy and Me
-
Its 3 am they're all asleep
And no one's here to see
As we rock slowly back and forth
My Baby Boy and Me.
-
His little head is feather light
tucked up against my chin
I hold his tiny hand in mine
and stroke his baby skin.
-
The house about us creaks and groans
the clock hands creep around
He snuggles closer to me still
and makes his baby sounds.
-
I love these quiet hours so much
and cherish every one
store memories up inside my heart
for lonely nights to come.
-
All too soon he'll be grown up
his need for Mama gone
but until then I still have time
for kisses and for song.
-
Time for quiet hours like this
with him cuddled in my arms
where I wish he'd always stay
protected safe and warm.
-
And yet I know the day will come
when this tiny little hand
will be much bigger than my own
he'll grow to be a man.
-
But until then he's mine to love
with no one here to see
as we rock slowly back and forth
my baby boy and me.

So, happy birthday to my sweet and troublesome Jeddy!
