Elijah's 5th Birthday!

My first baby boy, turned 5 today. Hard to believe that the little toddler who use to come running into my room every morning at about 5:30, and crawl in under the covers with me- is 5... and wipes my kisses off because, "he doesn't like wet cheeks."

I was so excited to finally have a "mommy's boy" after all the girls....and that's exactly what I got. I love how baby boys adore their moms. He would have cuddled with me all day, everyday! :) I remember seeing his temper for the first time, when he flipped a kitchen chair at about 1 1/2.... that didn't last too long... ;)

Now, he isn't such a "mommy's boy" anymore.... except when I'm baking! He likes to watch hockey with Dad, play video games, build things out of lego, and watch (ugh!) Star Wars....

He has always been my little man. I love how he tells me and his sisters that we look pretty when we wear something new, or when I do my hair up. He's sweet just like his Daddy.

I love you Elijah, and I couldn't be more proud of the little man you're becoming!

Christmas Day

Christmas morning, Sarah came over bright and early! (unusual for her... :P) She actually got me out of bed! After stressing out a bit over getting everything tidied up and cooking... the kids got to open up their presents. Brilliant Aunty Sarah, mad the girls their very own "Tickle Trunk!"
So we have Jeddy with the crazy glasses....
...and our Hawaiian police officer/McDonald's drive-through worker???
Everyone fit at one table this year, which was odd...
There was only 14 of us. Well, 13 actually at the table. Thankfully, Ella slept through dinner.
Jed fed her Cheerios afterwards!
After dinner the kids got to open all the presents from everyone else. The boys loved their new pyjamas!
Finally, it was time to have desserts....and relax! (My favourite part of the day ;)
Later on, the kids decided (or was it the older brother and sister???) to get out the lightsabers again. Oh man, the funniest part was when Elijah whacked Jed on the head, and right away Jed turned around and smacked Elijah right on the forehead with his new sword (thanks aunty Sarah!) It was hilarious! Scott and Nadine both had some battle wounds the next day. I tried to keep the kids out of the way...unfortunately, Eve accidentally got in the middle of their duel and had a nice swollen, red, welt on the side of her face to show for it. Poor girl. :( That ended the lightsaber fights...

After everyone went home, we cleaned up and went to bed early. Ha....that's what more responsible parents would have done, considering we had to leave early to go to Wasaga Beach the next morning. But no, we stayed up really late playing Scrabble and Wii. :)
We still got up semi early the next morning.... :/

Merry Christmas!

Christmas Eve

It has become a tradition for us to open our presents from each other on Christmas Eve. Our kids end up getting so many presents from other people, that it would be overly-overwhelming to open them all on the same day. So they sat patiently Wednesday morning, while Dad talked about the real meaning of Christmas, and prayed to thank God for the ultimate gift- Jesus.
Still a little tired from the night before!

Then, it was present time!
Scott with his new Scrabble Dictionary from Eve
Eve with her "fake" gift - a dusty old vase that we wrapped for her. All because she had told Elijah (who drew her name) that she would give him her money so that he could buy her a better gift! lol. It was sooo funny. She sat there pulling dead leaves out of the vase. She thanked ELijah, and then announced, "I'm going to clean off my vase when we're done opening presents." She actually did a good job of not looking disappointed with it!
Jeddy was handed his present, and said, "Airplane! Airplane!" Yep, he was right.... an airplane from Charity. Along with a Little People Pirate Ship.
Ella opening her "Sophie the Giraffe" from Keona! I think she enjoyed the wrapping paper more than the presents!
Elijah opening his "Clone Wars" helmet from Charity.
Notice Eve in the background with her vase....
Prayer opening some of her rhythm band instruments from Ella! :)
Keona opening her pottery wheel from Dad.

Charity, very surprised with her new watch from Mom.

Eve getting her real present....a violin- from Elijah.

Jed loved his new "Cars" boots, and more airplanes from Grandma, Grandpa and Robbie!

The girls opening the "big present" from Grandma, Grandpa and Robbie.

Just a tad bit excited to see that it's a keyboard!

Ella, sitting all by herself...and playing with Mr Potato head.

Keona, making a mess....I mean, trying out her new pottery wheel. :P

She made me a nice vase too!

Eve was much happier with her real present.

We tried to get a picture of all of us after getting ready for the Christmas Eve service at church. The ones of all of us didn't turn out.... but atleast we got one of the kids!

I love my kids...

The Night Before Christmas....Eve...

Tuesday night, Scott surprised us by coming home from work early. The kids had opened up their presents from Jamie, and the girls and I were playing their new "Clue" game, while Elijah played "Force Unleashed" with his Wii light saber. (very, very, funny to watch)

For some reason, every time Scott has time off... the kids end up wrestling with him, and/or each other. We let them stay-up for entertainment! :P

Just a little hyper....

Trying to entice Dad into the fight.

They were seriously throwing each other off the couch here.... are we bad parents for finding this hilarious! :S All in good fun of course!

"First one to cry loses!"

Then, it was time to attack Dad with the light sabers!

They were up until after midnight. I haven't laughed (and cried) so hard in a very long time! I can't wait until New Year's Eve! :P
(Notice the time on the clock???)
