Pray

Ask Him. Why do you fight it?

Our very nature of life demands that we seek Him for breath, for heart beat, for safety, for sustenance, for health, for more time, for our own personal perspective to be corrected, and for most and best of all, Him.

When honesty is mixed with musing, we cannot but notice He is there. Thus, if He is there, and He can hear, and He would hear, why do we not ask?

Maybe it’s too late. Maybe we’ve already come past the time of climax in the battle of life and realized we are defeated. Is it time to pray now, when all hope is lost? Why didn’t we pray before, hoping in Him? We hoped in ourselves, and now we bathe in the result. Hope in God today while it is not too late.

Maybe we refuse to speak to Him. How dare He have made mistakes in our lives, and then allow such tragedy, and dare say He loves us? If He can do anything why didn’t He just make my life a bed of roses so I could never have a tear? Might I gently say, you are looking up at a universe with your little perspective, while He looks down at every moment of every day from the time He charged it’s suns, powered its gravity and set it in motion. How dare you in your little speck of time judge Him who exists outside of it? Without your tears you would never know a smile’s worth. Without the consequence of action this world would know chaos no mind but His could grasp. We have chosen a life outside the garden of His presence, and our world is exactly what we have made it, hard, cold, and vain. But even though we, as an entire race, have rejected Him in our very culture and essence, He still, in His Fatherly goodness, says “Ask.” Dear soul, He would have you for His child for eternity. Don’t let life’s short circumstances rob you of eternity’s repay. Trust Him, ask Him, and do it today.

Maybe you’re not sure God is even there. He is. I am sure. If you’re not sure you can trust Him, trust me, you can. If you don’t know, that’s okay, choose to believe it. Ask anyways, and expect to receive.

Often my children will ask me for something, and I will refuse. You do the same. I can’t bare the sorrow I would cause by giving them what they asked for, so I would rather say “no” than allow them to suffer. Just because I have the power to give them all that they ask of me, doesn’t mean that I should. Thank God today for a Heavenly Father who always knows best; always judges rightly; always loves.

Have you ever pleaded for something from your enemy? Why would he give you your request? Dear soul, be sure you are God’s child, above all, by receiving the gift of His Son Jesus Christ. For without that, you are as a man pleading with a judge for mercy, when it was his son you had killed. Rather than plead with your enemy, plead with your Father, and receive thy petition. How can you become God’s child? How can you live forever, a part of His family? Ask Him. Right now, stop refusing, and ask Him for eternal life. Then, next time you meet in prayer, you can be sure you meet your Father above, looking down in love. Receive His righteousness applied to you. Not because you are so right, but because He can make you righteous, if you ask.

Ask Him.

“The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry. The face of the LORD is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth. The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles. The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.”

- Ps 34:15-19
