Peace is a gift.
We have all had those moments when we’ve gazed the eyes on a sight that has echoed an overcoming peace in our hearts and minds. A deep sigh of relief and a sudden drop of the heart rate, caused by a subconscious-affecting, aw-inspiring, perspective-changing view of a perfect moment unfolded right before your eyes.
It could be the sight of your first child; the first dumbfounding gaze of the love of your life; or a view of the natural artistic work of the hand of God throughout the earth, the sky, and the depths of space. Somewhere along each of our lives there is something from someone that gave us a time of peace.
Today the world is searching for peace. This is not a new thing. Today the world is searching for peace in new places. Neither is this a new thing. People are elected offices for peace. Homes are bought, riches are stored, even gifts are given for an assurance of a seemingly better future. The reason today, we are searching out new sources of peace is the current boat-rocking of the sources of the peace past. “Nest eggs”, economies, leaders, religions, and perspectives have recently been shaken, and will be again. Our peace seems to have been robbed of us. But who took it?
Peace is a gift. Peace has been given to you. But peace, as any other thing given, must be received and accessed to have use. I want to encourage those who may be reading and know they need a greater depth of peace: you have already been given it.
The Lord said, “Peace I give you, not as the world giveth… Let not your heart be troubled neither let it be afraid.” Dearest loved One, experience that peace that we as a humble little family enjoy. He shares peace as a gift and speaks of the heart, as something that you have control over. We rule what we allow to affect our heart and our heart then rules the effects of us.
Next time you enjoy that bliss of a moment at peace, that time of an encouraging thought, that second in which you have no fear nor despair, remember, you can experience peace far greater than that, and peace that will last forever.
“And, having made peace through the blood of His cross… let the peace of God rule in your hearts… and be ye thankful”
